Materials:
- Soft baby yarn (lightweight, such as DK or worsted)
- Knitting needles (Size 4 mm or US 6 is ideal for baby booties)
- Tapestry needle for sewing seams

Abbreviations:
- CO: Cast On
- K: Knit
- P: Purl
- St(s): Stitch(es)
- K2tog: Knit 2 stitches together (decrease)

Bootie Pattern:
- CO 32 sts.
Cuff:
- Rows 1-10: (K2, P2) ribbing. Work this for about 10 rows for the cuff of the bootie.
Foot Section:
- Row 11-18: K across all stitches (stockinette stitch). The right side will be knit rows and the wrong side will be purl rows.
Shaping the Top of the Foot:
- Row 19: K18, K2tog, turn your work (leave the rest of the stitches unworked).
- Row 20: P4, P2tog, turn.
- Row 21: K4, K2tog, turn.
- Row 22: P4, P2tog, turn.
- Repeat Rows 21 and 22 until 10 sts remain on the needles.
Completing the Foot:

Sole:

Shaping the Heel:

- Row 34: Purl across.
- Row 35: K2tog across the row to decrease the stitches.
Finishing:
- BO the remaining stitches, leaving a long tail for seaming.
Assembly:
- Use the long tail and a tapestry needle to sew the back seam of the bootie and the bottom sole.
- Weave in any loose ends.
